Careers Advice for employers

Easy access to Skills & Employment

The UK Commission for Employment and Skills (UKCES)| has launched an initiative to help employers find the people they need, train existing employees and engage with education. The innovative online tool is called talentmap, and it aims to make the potentially confusing task of how and where to get skills advice more streamlined and easily accessible.

talentmap(TM) is designed to make navigating the UK's skills and employment maze simple. Through it, employers should be able to access sources of public funding, learn more about which organisations can help them develop their workforce and learn more about how the education, employment and skills systems fit together and how they can make the most of them.

talentmap(TM) can be accessed at www.talentmap.ukces.org.uk.

Raising the profile of the services of Jobcentre Plus with Justice Sector Employers in Scotland

Jobcentre Plus is a free service, specifically designed to make your recruitment process run smoothly, whatever the scale. Whether you have full time, part time, temporary or permanent vacancies we can help advise you on your recruitment needs.

Local Employment Partnerships (LEPs) are an exciting new collaboration between Government and business to tackle the increasing recruitment and skills challenges of our labour market and economy. LEPs help to open up opportunities for people who, for whatever reason, have not yet been able to take advantage of the employment opportunities that are out there.

We are asking you, as an employer, to sign up for LEP and to offer people opportunities to get back into the workplace and progress. In return, we will ensure you have a chance to recruit people you might not have considered who are eager to work and have the core skills that you need.
