Following our successful Skills Summit conference in April 2009, we took time to look at your feedback and responses to the event. Delegates were very positive about Skills Summit (over 97% satisfaction rate) but there was a strong message that trying to pack a lot into a 1 day conference is not delivering the best results. Delegates would prefer events dealing with a range of issues but in ways more tailored and focused on what matters to them.
In response to your feedback we are proposing to host a range of events - some on practical delivery issues and some more strategic - over the next year. We have already held a workshop for Policing colleagues on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) and other events planned are
We hope this combination of the strategic and practical will better serve your needs, allowing us to focus on the things that matter to you. These events will allow for valuable networking opportunities and allow us to offer events at a minimal cost compared to full day conference prices, which will help with already stretched budgets.

- a further QCF workshop following demand from other parts of the sector
- a forum on the workforce implications of the Bradley Review on prisoners with mental health problems and learning difficulties
- an event to look at issues surrounding the comparison and identification of fingerprints
- an event on the skills challenges faced by third sector employers
