ACE Update

Skills for Justice have been in consultation with CWDC and have decided that training providers will be able to start using ACE when it becomes mandatory on 1st April 2012.

Skills for Justice have been in consultation with CWDC and have decided that training providers will be able to start using ACE when it becomes mandatory on 1st April 2012.

Apprenticeship Certificates England (ACE) is coming January 2012
As from 30 January 2012, a new online certification service will be run by the Alliance called Apprenticeship Certificates England (ACE). This will be an interactive online system where training providers will request apprenticeship certificates. The ACE system will be mandatory for all applications from 1 April 2012.

Certificates will still be processed by Skills for Justice. The main change will be how providers request apprenticeship certificates. Training providers will upload all evidence to the new system. We will be able to view each training providers applications and check the evidence online.

Apprentice Disclosure Reminder

Please be aware that the apprentice is required to sign the disclosure at the end of their apprenticeship.
From now on we are requesting that training providers only use the disclosure section in the new application forms to reduce errors.

Applications received in that do not follow this will be returned for amendment.

Key Skills Proxies

The National Apprenticeship Service (NAS) have confirmed that qualifications on the QCDA key skills proxies list cannot be accepted as part of a SASE apprenticeship.

All learners on the SASE apprenticeships must achieve (or have achieved) one of the qualifications listed in the frameworks for each transferable skill. No other qualifications can be accepted.

Your Awarding Organisation may accept your learner’s existing qualifications towards achieving part or all of a transferable skill qualification listed in the framework. Please contact them if you wish to find out more.

We apologise for any confusion prior to this regarding this issue.

Paediatric First Aid 

CWDC have confirmed that a learners paediatric first aid certificate should be valid at the time of submission for framework certification. This does not affect learners that have completed prior to September 2010 as this requirement was not in place.
